Allen Minner

Managing Broker

Specializing in the greater Eastside since 1991

As a John L. Scott broker, my mission is transactional excellence and client satisfaction. That means I work tirelessly to make your home buying or selling process as efficient, stress-free and lucrative for you as possible.

Meet Allen

Allen Minner began his real estate career in 1991 and became a Managing Broker in 1993. Allen and his wife Kristin Minner work together in the John L. Scott Bellevue-Issaquah office as Team Minner. Kristin started her real estate career in 1994 and they have worked as a team since then, helping hundreds of people with suburban and rural real estate transactions.

Team Minner enjoy helping their clients with real estate not only during the transaction, but also during their ownership. They often help clients make decisions on improvements to make to increase their enjoyment and resale value, too. While most of the time Allen and Kristin work in King County they have helped clients from Blaine, to Olympia, and Bainbridge Island to Ellensburg. They are also part of the relocation team at John L. Scott, and can help clients find an agent anywhere in the world.

Allen and Kristin are relocation specialists and have experience with starter homes to luxury homes, homes on acreage, vacant land and condominiums. They enjoy helping potential buyers learn about the home buying process and find the right property for them. It is also important for Allen and Kristin to educate their clients on the investment potential of the property of their choice. When working with sellers, they have a knack for helping the sellers appreciate the positive aspects of their property and showcase it in the best possible way to maximize their return on investment.

While real estate can have many unknowns or bumps along the way, Allen and Kristin aim to use their education and background to make the experience of buying or selling as predictable as possible. They both have a thorough understanding of the forms and processes in listing and selling real estate and bring a wealth of knowledge about the Pacific Northwest and a variety of properties to each transaction. With combined real estate experience spanning more than 50 years, Allen and Kristin are experts at anticipating potential problems and advising their clients on the best methods to maximize their position throughout the transaction.

Allen and Kristin met while in college at the University of Puget Sound, where they both graduated in 1983 with business degrees, with concentrations in management, marketing and psychology between them. They live in the Snoqualmie Valley on acreage in a 1920s Craftsman Bungalow that they moved and then remodeled. Allen and Kristin have two children – one who recently graduated technical college and is now working as a Land Rover mechanic and one who is a high school student with special needs.

Outside of work, Kristin and Allen enjoy spending time outdoors on Gabriola Island in British Columbia with family several times a year, with boating, crabbing and geocaching as integral activities. Allen also likes fishing, sailing and powerboating on local rivers, lakes and the Puget Sound.

Allen is also an active member of his local Snoqualmie Valley community, participating in the restoration of the Fall City Hop Kiln and helping with planning, transportation, historic preservation and environmental issues. He actively supports the Fall City Community Association, Pacific Coast Rover Club, Special Olympics and the monthly Fall City Neighbors community nonprofit newsletter.

Allen likes restoring and showing classic Land Rovers. He helped his son, Dean, rehab a 1972 Series III Land Rover when he was 15 years old. The truck has been on six continents with the previous owner and had a lot of field repairs. They got the truck in great mechanical shape and left the hard-earned patina from years of exploration. Allen also enjoys his Range Rover Classic complete with Zebra stripes, reminiscent to the stripes used on Land Rovers in Africa.

Kristin’s passions are gardening, hiking, woodworking projects, yoga and photography. Her initial interest in building and architecture started back in the sixth grade when her mother designed their 1970s Northwest Contemporary home in Yakima, Washington. Kristin loves learning about trends in home and garden design and spending time nurturing her garden and photographing plants, scenery and people.

Issaquah & Sammamish

There's so much to love about Sammamish and Issaquah. First, the area is perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors. It's away from the hustle and bustle of Seattle and Bellevue and it's one of the most beautiful locations in the world--right between the Cascade mountains and Lake Sammamish. We have fantastic schools and wonderful parks. Sammamish and Issaquah have a small town feel, but we have access to every amenity and nearby Redmond. We're about an hour away from some of the world's best skiing at Alpental and Snoqualmie. There are tons of ways to get outside here: fishing on the lake or biking and Duthie Hill Park which attracts mountain bikers from around the world. Issaquah and Sammamish are small enough that it's easy to get to know your neighbors. There's a real village vibe here. We meet outside to enjoy the gorgeous views and perfect summer weather. If you'd like to find out more about Sammamish and Issaquah, let us know. We'd love to show you around and help you find your perfect home.

“We have worked with Allen for more than a few years now. We always find Allen very knowledgeable, flexible and easy to work with. More than anything, we can always trust on Allen's judgement either it’s a sale or purchase.”

“We interviewed three realtors prior to selecting Allen and Kristin--a formidable team with John L Scott. They had multiple offers well above asking price after Open House Weekend--a day after it went on MLS in December of 2017. They expertly guided us through the entire sale process without a hitch. I highly recommend using a full service realtor...and I don't believe you will find anyone better than Allen and Kristin.”

“Without question, Allen Minner is an exceptional agent and ‘the’ person to contact when considering any real estate transaction. We wanted an agent who was a consummate professional and personable and he is definitely both. It was and is very clear that he has a thorough understanding of the real estate market; everything from the house to the neighborhood and the region. He took the time to know us as clients and carefully guided us through the process of selling our house. It was a seamless transaction and positive experience that was due to the preparation and care that he took in advising us and tracking all of the steps along the way. We're only sorry that we couldn't give him more than five stars.”

“Dynamic! From the first day we met Allen and Kristin, when they very thoroughly explained all the details involved in the sale process with appropriate charts and facts related to sales in our area to the final signing of papers, this amazing easy going couple were there for us. Always on top of things. From their ideas and advice on what updates and improvements to do that would make the house more marketable to the very impressive staging of our home they never left a single detail unattended. Every question was answered. If they did not know immediately, they would investigate and find your answer. I highly recommend Allen and Kristin Minner if you have property to sell!!! They are truly wonderful to work with!”

“I had a complicated set of real estate transactions to complete. I wanted to sell some vacant land on Bainbridge Island, sell a rental house in the Montlake neighborhood of Seattle, and buy an auto shop for my son's business to use, and do a 1031 exchange, which allowed me to not pay taxes on the sales, so I had more money to buy the shop. Allen was always helpful, responsive to my questions, and went above and beyond to help me move forward on these sales. He suggested a 1031 company to use. He and his partner Kristin Minner helped me clear stuff from the rental house that had been left there by my sister when I bought the house in 1988. He was patient with our questions, always willing to look something up. He's great and I would recommend him to anyone!”
